A Long, Long While

It's been a long week-and-a-half since my last post. I've been swamped at work which, while it isn't an excuse, is the best I can do. I promise to update more often in the future!
The Ramones documentary End of the Century is finally being released this fall.
More excitement than my little heart can handle: Love + The Zombies on tour!
From what I've heard, Ted Leo's new album is currently the frontrunner for album of the year. Check out the album tracklist and upcoming Tedley tour dates.
Those paragons of eccentric hip hop, the Ultramagnetic MCs, are getting back together and releasing a new album.
News on the new Slayer album and tour.
Soon to be released: a Screaming Trees best of compilation.
I'm not sure which way it's going to go, but U2 has covered a Kraftwerk song to be released on the new album.
Man, do I hate Oasis. Thus I find it amusing that Noel Gallagher, who can't even drive, has put his Rolls Royce up for auction on eBay.
Despite the fact that Communique's last album was a dismal failure (worst album of the year thus far), one of the members of the band—which one I am not yet sure—has great taste in music, judging from his MP3 blog, Black Yellow Black.
blackyellowblack would be Cory (keyboards), and you know he's gonna trackback that link and see that you said their album was awful (shame!).
just kidding, you're allowed to love and hate whatever you want, and no one understands that better than Cory (aka the "Master Of Negative Reviews" over at 75orless.com).
But for the record, I love Poison Arrows!

The Ramones doc is actually already out in a few cities (including Southern Cal, I think). Go to magpictures.com (the distributor) and they have info. I saw it on Friday. It's is absolutely fantastic. Two hours that fly by, and whether you know a lot about the band, are a casual fan of the music or just know that they were some guys in leather jackets, it's informative and entertaining for all.

Ryan: If he does follow the trackback, I consider it a public service. I loved Communique's first album—hell, I loved American Steel. I saw Communique (with Black Cat Music—an excellent night) live after A Crescent Honeymoon and loved that. But my disappointment after hearing Poison Arrows nearly killed me. Where did all the great songwriting go? I'm fairly sure it was murdered by an overreliance on really muddy synth, and not in that good Screamers way.
But then again, I loved the Maritime album and no one else did, so why would anyone care what I think?

And thanks for the tip on the Ramones film, Aaron. I'll check that out ASAP.
