Falling to Pieces

Posted by nerdling | June 16, 2004 12:12 PM

Exene Cervenka, frontwoman of X and ex-wife of Viggo Mortenson, has petitioned the courts to force Viggo to increase child support payments for their teenage son to six times the current amount.

Imagine how many hobbits you could buy with that kind of money.

It is apparently a bad week to be a former punk in LA—Johnny Ramone was hospitalized earlier this week and is reportedly in critical condition due to some sort of liver problem.
[Editor's note: Johnny Ramone has prostate cancer, not a liver problem as previously supposed.]

All over LA, protesters are getting cleverer and cleverer. {Via Cult of Mac}

Johnny Ramone...? Liver problems...? Why, that's just plain ludicrous! :)

Actually, according to this, Johnny Ramone's suffering from prostate cancer.

fyi--johnny ramone didn't smoke, hardly drank, and didn't do drugs during the hey-ho-days of the ramones. he was very much into healthy living and fitness. he is also a staunch conservative and gun collector. strange, but true.

i don't know why i can never seem to fit all my hyperbolic ranting into one post.

anyhow, the child support thing w/ exene is a ridiculous. yeah, viggo should provide for his kid and all that, but what's w/ the money for private tutors, vacations, and trips to prospective universities? 18,000 dollars a month?
to raise ONE kid? her household income would be $24,000 a month? meanwhile, mike watt lives in his one bedroom apartment in a ghetto in san pedro.

this is the same woman that wrote the lyrics to "sex and dying in high society" and "see how we are". what's next, botox treatments and a psychiatrist for her dog? makes me want to get a hot butter knife and scrape that tattoo off my arm.

letting your rich ex-husband support your fat ass so you can have the hollywood lifestyle you spent years ridiculing--how sadly fucking typical, and so very l.a.

selling out is the new black,

I've heard a number of different rumored reports about Johnny's condition, so I'm glad Marky told everyone what's going on, though I'm sorry about the diagnosis. It's been a bad few years for the old punk scene, and The Ramones especially.

In good news, John Doe is playing a solo show at the Largo next week!
